BIM is becoming part of the ‘As-built’ documentation, whether it has been planned and facilitated, or by chance, as a result of the parties involved having used BIM in the project. Realising the full potential of BIM in operation requires both a in-project strategy and a strategy for how the model and associated data will live on after handover.
Our very own Ole Kvarsvik, MD at Rendra, will show how the the Glasblokkane project at Haukeland University Hospital have succeeded with this in his presentation (at 11.10 on Thursday 21st).
Unfortunately, building owners more often than not receive a ‘somewhat limited’ data set from the contractor on project handover, but can this provide added value in the FM phase nonetheless? Ole will give some practical examples and areas of application in these cases as well.
