StreamBIM 2024: A Year in Review

As we leave 2024 behind, we reflect on a year filled with milestones, innovation, and inspiring stories from the field of digital construction. While there are countless highlights to celebrate, the most memorable moments remain those where we connected with our customers and heard their stories of embracing digital transformation, achieving remarkable results, and driving change.

Connecting with the customer base and spearheading Industry Leaders

This year, the StreamBIM Day events in Stockholm and Oslo brought together leading industry experts and professionals. These gatherings were a true joy for us, as we engaged in meaningful discussions, exchanged ideas, and shared our passion for digital construction. We hope our attendees enjoyed these events as much as we did!

Expanding the StreamBIM Ecosystem

In 2024, we were thrilled to welcome several new partners to the StreamBIM ecosystem, further strengthening our business and technology network.

These include:

These partnerships bring fresh perspectives and capabilities to our platform, adding value to our customers' business processes and enabling us to serve our customers even better.

Supporting Global Growth

This year marked a significant expansion of our infrastructure to support our customers worldwide. We established a new server in Sydney to cater to our growing customer base in New Zealand and Australia. To enhance our presence in this region, we have partnered with the brilliant team at Construction Workshop, who now serve as our point of contact for sales and support in the NZ and AUS markets.

Driving Data Residency and Security

With over 2,000 new projects registered and more than 12,000 new users signing up in 2024, data security remains at the core of what we do. This year, we formalized our commitment by achieving ISO27001 certification, a significant milestone in ensuring robust data protection and security for our customers.

Data residency has also become a pressing topic in recent years. In response, we set up a Swedish server in collaboration with our partner Högerklick to host Swedish projects with special data needs. Additionally, we have developed an on-premise version of our cloud solution that operates offline, catering to projects handling confidential data. Several installations are already operational, and we see growing interest in this product line.

Championing Sustainability

As part of the JDM Group, StreamBIM is proud to have been officially certified as Carbon Neutral+ by Carbon Footprint. This achievement reflects our commitment to sustainability, as we offset our 2023 carbon emissions plus an additional 25%. In a world that urgently needs to cool down, we’re doing our part to contribute to a greener future.

Speaking of sustainability, we’d like to highlight the Lumi project in Uppsala, Sweden. Led by Vasakronan, with management by Byggstyrning and White Architects, this project achieved an incredible 190 kg CO₂e/m².

Lumi in numbers (From White Architects):

This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without an innovative project team and a data- and model-centric approach to the building process—not to mention the dedication of the people involved.

Pushing the Boundaries of Development

Our development team at Rendra has been busier than ever, delivering significant enhancements to StreamBIM. This year’s highlights include:

Behind the scenes, we’ve also focused heavily on optimizing performance and preparing for progressive features. While 2024 was a year of significant improvements, we’re only just getting started. Expect faster, smarter, and more powerful tools in 2025!

Spotlight on Helse Bergen and Glasblokkene

One standout moment of 2024 was our collaboration with Helse Bergen on their prestigious Glasblokkene project. This groundbreaking initiative, which has earned multiple awards over the past year, demonstrates how BIM datasets can seamlessly transition into Facilities Management (FM) and Maintenance & Operations (M&O).

As their technology partner, we were both challenged and inspired by their vision. A particular highlight was integrating Schneider’s BMS system into StreamBIM, proving that what might seem like rocket science is entirely achievable. For those intrigued by this success story, we’re here to help you achieve similar results.

Looking Ahead

2024 has been an incredible journey, but it’s just the beginning. We’re excited to continue innovating, collaborating, and delivering solutions that drive digital transformation in construction. Here’s to an even more successful 2025!
