StreamBIM release notes for webapp, iOS and Android apps

Here you will find what is in the latest build of StreamBIM. The list contains the most important updates, changes and bugfixes.

Please note that the list may not be comprehensive. 

Release 05-12-2025

Released to Europe and Sweden 05-12-2025. Planned for release to Australia and Japan 12-12-2025

New in this release:

  1. Layer trees – StreamBIM layers are presented as a hierarchical structure allowing several levels. Enables better structuring of model layers through grouping. Read articles here:
  2. Edges and shadows. We’ve added on objects and improved shadows in the 3D viewer. Guide article here.
  3. Require due date on topics. Workflows can be set up so that all topics get a due date a fixed number of days after creation.
  4. Improved spin navigation. Spinning in the void has been tamed.
  5. Safeguards on deletion of checklists.  

Release 26-09-2025

New in this release:

  1. Multifactor authentication can be required at project and Enterprise level. Read the Guide article here.
  2. Admin tools for managing allowed login methods. Guide article here.
  3. Alpha release of 2D Infra mode
    • Georeference 2D PDF drawings on map
    • Pinpoint locations in checklists and topics
    • Create zones on the map
  4. Zoom out to global view in map
  5. Option to hide unused document labels
  6. External ID renamed to “Customer project number”
  7. Improved flow and menu to add topic to report

Release 25-07-2025

Released to Europe and Sweden 25-07-2025. Planned for release to Australia and Japan 01-08-2025

New in this release:

  1. Added a clip box tool to the 3D view context menu. Creates a clipbox around a selected object. See StreamBIM guide article – Clip box
  2. Complete curve support. The StreamBIM viewer now supports splines and B-splines.
  3. Improved zooming in Globe navigation mode.
  4. Rotation in 2D viewer on mobile and tablet is now re-implemented.
  5. QR codes for documents point to the lates revision
  6. Improvements to 3D object tessellation and loading.
